小词find的大妙用
1. find 宾语
find 名词 （sb /sth) …发现 find a car
2. find 宾语 宾补 发现…处于某种状态
1）find sb./sth. 形容词
He found the text difficult to understand. 他发现这篇课文很难理解。
Lucy finds Bob very honest. 露茜发现鲍勃很诚实。
2）find sb./sth. 名词/代词
You will find her a beautiful girl. 你会发现她是一个漂亮的女孩。
I found it a boring film. 我发现那是一部乏味的影片。
I didn’t find her an easy woman to work with. 我发现她不好共事。
3）find sb./sth. 副词
Mary hurried there, only to find them all out. 玛丽匆匆赶到那里，结果却发现他们都出去了。
4） find sb./sth. 介词短语
When he woke up, he found himself in hospital. 当他醒来时，发现自己在医院里。
5）find sb./sth. to do
They find the Chinese people to be happy and cheerful. 他们发现中国人很幸福快乐。
【注意】find sb.（to) do 表示发现某人做事全过程，to可以省略，表达意思略有差别；如果是to be，to不能省略，但是可以说 find sb （to be）形容词。
I found her (to) paint the house by herself.
I found her (to be) interested in painting the house by herself.
6) find sb./sth. doing
I found a number of people already working there. 我发现很多人已经在那里工作了。
We found him waiting to receive us. 我们发现他正等着迎接我们。
7) find sb./sth. done
The old man found his hometown much changed. 这位老人发现自己的家乡有了很大的变化。
3. find 宾语从句
The two biologists found, to their surprise, that both groups of birds survived equally well. 这两位生物学家惊奇地发现，两组鸟都很好地存活了下来。
4. find it 形容词 to do sth
At my age I would find it hard to get another job. 到了我这个年纪自己就会发觉很难再找到一份工作了。
5. find n. in doing sth
How could anyone find pleasure in hunting and killing this beautiful creature?怎么会有人以猎杀这种美丽的动物为乐呢？
6. find名词，“发现”
His discovery was hailed as the botanical find of the century. 他的发现被誉为本世纪植物学的最重大发现。
7. find sb. sth = find sth. for sb. 接双宾语
Please find me my key. =Please find my key for me. 请给我找到我的钥匙。
试比较。如：
We found him a good teacher. 我们发现他是位好老师 (复合宾语＝We found that he was a good teacher)。
We found him a good job. 我们为他找了份好工作 (双宾语=We found a good job for him)。
8. find oneself 宾补 “发现自己 (处于某种状态)”或“不知不觉或突然……
He returned to England to find himself famous. 他回到英国，发现自己竟出了名。
9. find是终止性动词，一般不与一段时间连用。
正：I found it a long time ago. 这个东西我找到很久了。
误：I (have) found it for a long time.
